Wayne Holmes
Wayne Holmes will be your child’s Learning Coordinator. A core value of the Club Med Academies' program is the optimal development of each individual as an athlete, student and responsible member of society. Education is vital to your child’s overall development in the program. Excelling in the Critical Thinking process of intentional, reflective judgment concerning what to believe and how to positively apply that knowledge is essential for excellence in athletics, education and life. Holmes' job is to work alongside your child to maximize his/her’s journey as a critical thinker who has a goal of excellence in all he/she does. Holmes has more than seven years of extensive experience in the education field. For example as the Computer Help Desk Teacher, Holmes managed the Computer Lab and taught up to 25 students in a Virtual online setting. He also taught Tutors of Adult Literacy and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes in more than nine nations. In addition Holmes has assisted in curriculum development of a Re-entry Program for Youthful Offenders, taught at private schools and was a Head Teaching Assistant at the university level. His undergraduate studies were in General Business, and Holmes also holds a Master’s Degree in Divinity. Professionally, he has managed a mid-sized office of 20 employees and also had a successful career in banking prior to teaching. Holmes is a native of Canada and loves the wonderful multicultural atmosphere of my home city of Toronto; but, he also enjoys the warm climate and great beaches of my adopted home of Florida. Holmes enjoy traveling, volunteering at his church, and learning new languages, as he has a good working knowledge of Spanish and French. A native of Montreal, Holmes had great exposure to French culture and plans to take some courses at a local university. "My philosophy for learning is that each student is unique and each child learns in a different way. So I’m excited to be using the K12 online curriculum that tailors the academic process to your child’s learning style, while also blending the best of modern technology and timeless educational approaches.
