Refund, Transfer & T-Shirt Policies

All registration entries are non-refundable.  Once an athlete has registered, no refunds will be issued for any purpose.  A race transfer will be granted as long as written notification has been made at least 10 days prior to the race date.  A race transfer is defined as transferring a current registration to a future registration within the same race season.  The fee to transfer to another race is $20 and must be received within that 10-day pre-race window.  Transfers for the last race of the season can be made to the first race of the following season provided written notice is received 10-days prior to event along with transfer fee.

Due to the planning, coordinating and expenses associated with creating an event, this policy will be strictly enforced.  We appreciate your understanding given the time and resources it takes to create a safe and organized venue for our athletes.

The Natural Disaster Policy is in effect if an Act of God, Terrorism, or Community Disaster occurs.  If in the event of the aforementioned, decisions concerning the race will be based on safety first.  Races will be altered, cancelled and/or rescheduled as necessary.  Please be advised that under no circumstances refunds will be given once an athlete has registered for an event

          -  Race shirts are only guaranteed to those that pre-register.

Participants must select their category when they register.

Overall/Elite Category: - Triathlon Only - Professional Male and Female racers or amateur elite racers wishing to race head-to-head. Racers in this category only qualify for Overall awards.

Age Group Category - Male and Female Categories go in 5-year increments as follows:
15-19 / 20-24 / 25-29 / 30-34 / 35-39 / 40-44 / 45-49 / 50-54 / 55-59 / 60-64 / 65-69 / 70+
By USAT rules, athletes' age groups are determined by their age on December 31st of that year. You age up, not down, so that you don't change age groups in the middle of the year.

Clydesdale & Athena Category - Clydesdale 200 Under 39 (Men under 39 years old over 200 pounds);
Clydesdale 200 40+ (Men over 40 years old over 200 pounds); Athena (Women over 150 pounds)

Fat Tire Category - This category is for those competing on bikes with a tire width of at least 1.5 inches and have no aero bars (i.e. Mountain Bikes). This category is intended for beginners and will include Male Fat Tire and Female Fat Tire overall categories, 1st – 3rd Place.

Relay Category (2 or 3 person teams) - Male Relay, Female Relay, Coed Relay; The same team members must be used for every race under the same team name to be eligible for series awards

First Timers - This category has been developed for athletes competing in their first triathlon.

Awards - Category

Awards are given 3 deep in all categories. Special awards will be given to the Top 3 Overall Males, Top 3 Overall Females. Those receiving Overall Awards are removed from their age groups, bumping everyone else up in the age group standings. If you qualify for Overall, you cannot get another award for your age group. Pro-Elite participants only qualify for Overall Awards.

If you are not able to or forget to pick up your awards after a race you have several options:
   - E-mail us and let us know that you will be picking up your award at our next race and we will hold it for you.
   - Send a check (to address below) for $15 written to "ITA-USA" and a mailing address you would like us to send your award to.
